Aviation Walk of Honor Inducts Six at Inaugural Event

The Arizona Wing of the Commemorative Air Force paid tribute to six aviation icons on Saturday by inducting them into the organization's newly formed Walk of Honor.

Approximately one-hundred people attended the inductee dinner, held at the Hilton Phoenix East /Mesa Hotel.

The six inductees were Brigadier General Joseph J. Foss, Major Frederick E. Ferguson, Lieutenant Frank Luke, Jr., Dr. S. Harry Robertson, Sergei Sikorsky and Rear Admiral W. L. "Lew" Chatham.  Brigadier General J.D. Harris, Commander, 56th Fighter Wing, Luke AFB, gave the keynote address.

Master of Ceremonies was Larry Turner with special remarks by Mesa District 5 Councilwoman, Dina Higgins. Look for more in-depth coverage in the next issue of the Arizona Aviation Journal.
